Excellent, safe and considerate

Amit drove myself and my partner around Delhi and Rajasthan over 7 days during a trip to India in April 2012. He’s an excellent, safe and considerate driver with a brilliantly dry sense of humour. He was very helpful when I had my shoes (all my fault) pinched outside the Jama Masjid - arranging for a rickshaw driver to help me find cheap replacements from a shoe stall in Old Delhi bazaar – sightseeing and shopping combined. Amit was very flexible – always willing to stay a bit longer at somewhere that interested us, or take a slight detour from our planned itinerary. He was always good natured and smiley, and contributed greatly to making our first trip to India such a success. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and Private Driver India Tour.

Reliable and punctual

Expert guidance, comfort and safety

My fiancé and I spent a lovely few days in Delhi this March with the help of Amit. This was the culmination of a 2-month long trip traveling through India. After weeks of traveling amidst chaos, the calm and reliable service provided by Amit was a wonderful respite. Amit was so accommodating of our interests and needs. We enjoyed visiting the many sites of Delhi such as Humayan's Tomb, Jantar Mantar and the Lodi Gardens to name a few. Amit offered us great recommendations for shopping and dining. This was the second time I had the pleasure of driving with Amit (the first time was in Rajasthan – highly recommended!). He is so charming and engaging – and always willing to answer my questions and discuss subjects such as Indian culture, religion, politics and history. Thank you Amit!

Going to India has always been a dream of mine. My husband and I decided to organize a 2 week tour over Christmas and New Years so I sent off a fair amount of emails in search for a driver. I received numerous replies but decided to go with Amit's company and so began our correspondence in trying to figure out what the best itinerary would be for us. We met up with Amit in Delhi and so began our journey to Agra and Rajasthan. Besides being an excellent driver, kind and professional we felt like Amit was always making sure we were OK and giving us all necessary information about the places we were about to visit. He suggested what we should do, see and sometimes what to avoid which was an enormous help seeing as it was the first time for us in India, it can be tricky at times! Long hours in a car can seem endless but not in this case, Amit shared his stories and experiences with an open heart which added yet another dimension to our amazing experience. Thanks to Amit our trip went beyond our expectations. We discovered a beautiful culture and found a friend. I am very grateful for Amit; his genuine courtesy as well as his guidance. Throughout my visit he was always prompt and waiting for me. I especially enjoyed that he was waiting for me at the airport in Delhi at 3 am with a sign with my name on it. A wonderful company

My friend and I just returned from a ten day trip around Rajasthan. We traveled with Amit from Private Driver India Tour. We were incredibly impressed with every aspect of our trip from the planning stages to the final drop off at Delhi airport. The company was incredibly patient and accommodating as we made tweaks to our itinerary right up to our arrival in India. Amit was wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, patient and flexible. He was very organized and would make a list of all of the sights and shops we would visit the following day so we would not miss a thing! He kept the car in impeccable shape, cleaning it daily. He was able to fix a minor problem with the car in a matter of minutes. He also took precautions when it came to our safety. Amit noticed a tiny bulge in the tire (I certainly would not have ever seen it!) and decided to get a brand new tire just to be safe. Amit made great restaurant suggestions, the hotels were wonderful and the shops were all interesting. I highly recommend this company, they were wonderful! Margaret Platt

High value services

I've found this company through Google, and I've contacted them for my 12 days trip to India during last May. My request was a driver and an a/c car for a trip from New Delhi to Varanasi. I've had the pleasure to try the high value services of the company. Mr. Amit who was my driver until Khajuraho and Mr. Dinesh, my driver In Varanasi. Endless patience and extremely knowledgeable

In April 2011 my partner and I had the great pleasure of having Amit Singh of Private Driver India Tour as our driver for a 7 night trip around Rajasthan. This was my approx 6th trip to India and by far my favourite. In previous trips I have had drivers whose only concern were making money out of me and getting commissions at hotels and restaurants. This was certainly not the case with Amit. In the lead up to our trip I had regular correspondence with Amit via email. I was able to have all of my questions answered as well as change the suggested itinerary to meet our needs and requests. We were greeted by Amit at Delhi airport which made for a hassle free start to our trip. At all times Amit was punctual, courteous and friendly. At the time of our trip, IPL cricket was going on and this started a great rapport between Amit and my sports-mad partner. In fact even I started watching with great interest as the week went on! Amit recommended which monuments were appropriate times to hire a local guide and when we could rely on our lonely planet as our guide. He knew special places to take us such as that for unparalleled views of the Taj Mahal that many others would never see. Amit had endless patience with our many questions and was extremely knowledgeable about Rajasthan. Without any doubt we would use his services again on our next trip to India and highly recommend him to fellow travelers.

We recently undertook a month long trip through northern India and won the lottery by connecting with Amit Singh. A fantastic experience made our honeymoon special

My wife and myself travelled Rajasthan with Amit for 17 days in January/February 2011 and we had a fantastic time! Amit and Bunty really went out of their way to make our honeymoon a special one. Amit was a great driver and introduced us to the real India that many tourists on group tours don't see. This was my second visit to India and having a private driver makes all the difference in the world. Being able to drive to temples and visit restaurants and attractions a little off the tourist map was fantastic. We'd really like to thank Amit for introducing us to the dabas, roadside chais, lassis and other amazing foods on our journey.

The hotels Bunty booked for us (3 and 4 stars) we're all very clean and included breakfast. The viewing of monuments such as the Taj Mahal and the forts in Rajasthan, the camel and tiger safaris, and the temples were unique and we'll remember them for the rest of our lives. While in Udiapur I had a little bit of a medical issue, Amit woke up at 4:30am drove us to the hospital and waited with my wife until I was discharged. Amit is a true friend. He's very honest and tells you exactly how you should bargain, prices you should expect to pay and more. After travelling with India Private Driver/Private Driver India Tour we spent another week traveling on our own and we can say it wasn't even remotely as enjoyable as having a driver. It's really nice to be able to visit where you want, avoid hassles and know you're going to enjoy a fantastic dinner and clean, comfortable room. We have been recommending Amit and Bunty's company to our friends here in the U.S.A. We both hope to travel with them again soon!

Feeling safe with honest and very friendly people makes an unforgettable trip

Amit is a very nice young man, very polite, drives safely, knows his way around Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh very well, he was always happy to make little changes in our itinerary to please us. He also always recommended nice restaurants, took us to small places he usually eats at which was awesome. Moreover, as we were going to Varanasi on our own, he called his friend Dinash, a local tuc-tuc driver, who met us there and made our trip really enjoyable. The fact of feeling safe with honest and very friendly people adds up to making your trip an unforgettable one. I will undoubtedly hire Amit again on another opportunity.

Private Driver India Tour made my first trip to India so easy

In the past year I have travelled twice in north India and have used Amit on both occasions. December 2009 was my first trip to India, I was travelling alone and felt quite apprehensive about being hassled on my arrival in Delhi and not knowing who to trust. Some good friends of mine recommended Amit to me. I'm so glad that they did.

When I arrived at the airport Amit was there to meet me. He is such a good and careful driver that I always felt safe on roads where you must expect the unexpected. He knew a lot about the cities I was visiting and advised me on what to see, where to eat, where to be careful of pickpockets and where to bargain hard. I knew that if there was ever a problem he'd only be a phone call away and would be there to help me out. On top of all that he was excellent company and very honest. He was upfront from the start about which shops would offer him a commission and never pressured me to go to those places. I learnt a lot about Indian culture and life from my chats with Amit. It is quite an amazing place to be. Thanks to Amit I went from being quite anxious about travelling in India alone to having one of the best travel experiences of my life.

Helpful and accommodating

My boyfriend and I are both Travel Agents, and were referred to Amit through one of my clients. We were very happy with their services from beginning to end. All my questions were answered through email quickly and efficiently. We changed our schedule many times before leaving and he was always very accommodating. When we arrived in India, Amit was there to greet us with a smile. He had many suggestions for us along the way, and we had so much fun! A different perspective on travelling in India

We have had Amit as our driver on two occasions. Our first trip with Amit we travelled around Rajasthan for 11 days and the second trip we went to Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh for 17 days. On both trips we arranged for Amit to meet us at Delhi airport and whisk us off out of the city to the countryside which meant we didn't waste time in Delhi at the start of our holiday. Amit is an excellent driver, we had absolutely no concerns about our safety, he's also really helpful and a genuinely friendly guy. We enjoyed chatting to him about life in India and even exploring areas that he was not so familiar with such as Chamba. Hiring Amit as our driver gave us a different perspective on travelling in India and we would definitely recommend his services to anyone intending to travel in north India. We wish him every success with his new business venture.

Excellent service and helpful suggestions

We travelled with Amit for 14 days through Rajasthan in January 2010. Amit's driving was excellent, always on time, courteous and nothing was too much trouble. His English was very good and he had a good command of the language and had a good sense of humour and we did enjoy his company. He is honest, reliable and I would not have any hesitation in recommending him as a driver. He would make suggestions about different places we may like to visit en route to our next stop and also recommend a restaurant we may prefer to eat at rather than at the hotel for a change. If you ever travel to Jodhpur you must experience the Omelette Shop in the market (a recommendation by Amit) – and sit amidst the chaos enjoying an omelette between 2 slices of bread made on the spot, quite an experience. When we next travel to India we will certainly contact Amit once again, and we wish him every success for the future.

We had excellent planning and advice for trouble-free traveling in India

Perhaps the moment of greatest trepidation on our recent 24 day trip to India was exiting customs at Delhi Airport around midnight and wondering what we would do if our driver was not there. The worries were groundless. Our driver, Amit, was there to greet us. My husband has been to India before, but this was my first time. It was rendered trouble-free by the excellent planning and the terrific services of Amit, a safe and patient driver in a country where, by US and UK standards, traffic is crazy. He was however, far more than our driver. He looked out for us. He made great suggestions on itineraries, guides and restaurants. He kept us informed about historical, cultural and local issues. He was invaluable in aiding me with an independent train trip to Varanasi and stayed in touch by phone in case I needed assistance. His English is very good and he is a comfortable and reassuring person to travel with. I could go on for longer, but suffice to say I would definitely recommend Amit to anyone thinking about travelling in Northern India, whether or not it is their first trip. Please feel free to contact me. One tip: If you don’t have and international mobile, get a prepaid cell phone while you are in India. Amit and Airtel made for a positively unforgettable trip! Outstanding customer service – nothing was ever too much trouble

Our two week holiday in Rajasthan was certainly made very enjoyable by having Amit as our driver. We can highly recommend Amit as an extremely competent, careful, safe and honest driver, and we thoroughly enjoyed his delightful company. He has a great sense of humour and we found him very interesting to talk to. His command of the English language was excellent. Nothing was ever too much trouble - everything was always "no problem." In fact, Amit couldn't have been more helpful and on two occasions also helped two of our friends back to their hotel one night when their own driver was unavailable. This only confirmed what we already knew - Amit was the perfect driver and we had struck gold when we booked him! Amit has a sound knowledge of the road network in Rajasthan and also knows exactly which restaurants are safe to eat at in between destinations. He listened carefully to the type of food we wanted to eat and his recommendations for restaurants in Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur made our holiday. We also benefited from Amit's recommendations as to what we should see, including the sequence and timing of some of our visits to various palaces, forts, temples etc, which was invaluable. We will certainly be recommending the outstanding service to all our friends.
